Organization Overview
The Borderland Health Foundation (BHF) is a non-for-profit, non-confessional and non-political organization, registered in Thailand. The BHF is linked to field stations of the Mahidol - Oxford University Research Unit (SMRU Clinics) working in Mae Sot, Mae Ramat, Phop Phra, Tha Song Yang and Umphang districts in Tak province, Thailand. BHF works with marginalized populations along the Thailand-Myanmar border on health care services and public health related issues and the main area of work covers malaria, tuberculosis and maternal & child health.
Tasks/Responsibilities:
- Facilitate activities with essential support under supervision of project lead(s)
- Organise field visit to oversee activities, events; it is required to occasionally travel out of Mae Sot or to other area in Thailand
- Plan and organize workshops, meetings, and trainings with departments and partners
- Monitor project progress according to work plan and collect output/outcome against proposed indicators and performance
- Monitor activities expenses to comply with Foundation’s SOP, policies, and donor guidelines
- Liaise with departments (grant, accounting, procurement, etc.) as needed
- Assist in report preparation, follow up, and initial review
- Assist in administrative and logistic arrangements for activities
- Support translation of documents between Thai and English
- Support department heads as requested to be liaison with Thai authorities and partners
- Perform other tasks as required, such as office general administration
Qualifications and Experience:
Essential
- Bachelor degree in science or social science or business management or related fields
- Minimum 3 years working experience in a similar capacity, preferably for a non-profit organization
- Excellent working knowledge of Thai and English, both written and verbal; fluent in Karen speaking is also highly demanded
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications with very good skills for MS Excel
- Excellent planning and organizing skills
- A confident personality that shows initiative; is able to take on and solve problems quickly and efficiently with ability to work under pressure.
- Interpersonal communication skills, individually and in-groups, with an ability to work as an active member of teams. This implies flexibility and open-mindedness
Desirable
- Experience with various donors’ procedure
- Understanding of humanitarian work and sharing the humanitarian values of the organization
- Able to work in a variety of cultural and institutional context
- Able to work independently with minimum supervision
- Basic/Intermediate level of Burmese speaking is a plus
